π₯ We challenge you!
β
In this graduation project you will be contributing to the design, development and testing of the kinetic energy harvesting systems we are pioneering. Specifically, we are trying to better understand the complex and nonlinear behavior of buckled compliant mechanisms in real-world vibration environments. This features a combination of fundamental mechanics and dynamics modelling combined with the practical implementation of manufacturing methods and experiment design for prototyping and testing. Some examples of the topics of recent graduation projects:
β’ Design and analysis of mechanisms with buckled flexures and developing techniques to tune their force-deflection behavior.
β’ Simulating and testing the nonlinear dynamics of bi-stable and zero-stiffness mechanisms.
β’ Integration of piezoelectric elements with the compliant mechanisms and electrical harvesting circuits and optimization of the performance of the total system.
β’ Developing and testing new fabrication processes for the production of flexure elements with piezoelectric layers.
