Role Overview
We’re seeking a Mechatronic Engineer who is equally comfortable with digital design tools and hands-on assembly or testing work. You will be responsible for designing mechanical and mechatronic systems in SolidWorks, supporting the assembly and testing of pilot installations, and helping improve our systems based on real-world experience from the pilots.

Key Responsibilities
• Designing mechanical and mechatronic components (in SolidWorks)
• Preparing technical drawings, part lists, and assembly instructions
• Supporting the assembly, wiring, and testing of pilot systems
• Participating in system installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting
• Collaborating closely with E&I engineers, process specialists, and operations teams
• Improving designs based on feedback from pilots and operational testing
Qualifications & requirements
• Degree or vocational training (MBO-4, HBO, or equivalent) in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
• Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly or prototyping is a plus
• Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and instrumentation is an advantage
• Relevant certificates (e.g., SolidWorks certifications, VCA) are valued, or willingness to obtain them
• Practical, flexible, and proactive mindset, eager to build and improve
• Proficiency in Dutch and/or English
• Certificate of good conduct (VOG), needed to work on-site in the water sector
• The applicant must possess a valid Dutch or EU residence and work permit. CIWI is not able to sponsor visas
