About us

SoundCell is a rapidly growing startup with an office and laboratories in the vibrant environment of Yes!Delft. Our goal is to provide a diagnostic platform to hospitals to help doctors quickly determine which antibiotics will be effective for patients with infections (see also our website: [www.soundcell.nl](http://www.soundcell.nl)). As an intern, you will play an  important role in achieving this mission and can grow and make a real impact together with us.

What will you do

During this internship, you will follow a structured, hands-on development trajectory, gaining practical experience in mechanical design, automation, and prototyping:

• Gain hands-on experience with 3D printing and assembly techniques
• Work with basic electronics for motion control systems
• Assemble a gantry system from components
• Perform feasibility studies and develop a first system concept
• Build and test a first working prototype (hardware and software integration)
• Perform testing, debugging, and iterative improvements
• Develop and assemble a detailed final design based on validated prototype performance

Throughout the internship, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and contribute directly to the development of automated manufacturing solutions.

What we are looking for

•  Enthusiastic person with good mechanical prototyping, electronics, or robotics skills.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD design software and additive manufacturing, and/or solid mechanical engineering skills
• Experience with automation and PLC programming
• Motivated team player with good written and verbal communication skills
