Position summary
We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer Intern to join our development team and contribute to the next generation of Dopplium radar systems.
You will work closely with experienced engineers on embedded firmware and low-level software that runs directly on our radar hardware. Your work may include interfacing with radar sensors, implementing real-time data acquisition pipelines, optimizing performance on constrained systems, and supporting communication between hardware and higher-level software tools.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of embedded systems, signal processing, and cutting-edge radar technology. You will gain hands-on experience with real hardware, take ownership of meaningful engineering tasks, and see your work directly influence a commercial product.
Who are you
• Curious, analytical, and eager to understand how things work at a low level
• Motivated to work with real hardware and complex technical systems
• Comfortable learning independently in a fast-paced startup environment
• Interested in embedded systems, electronics, and applied engineering
Requirements
• Background in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with C/C++ for embedded or low-level programming
• Basic understanding of microcontrollers, real-time systems, or embedded Linux
• Familiarity with serial interfaces (SPI, UART, I²C) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Bonus:
• Experience with radar, signal processing, or DSP concepts
• Experience working with sensors or hardware bring-up
• Familiarity with Python or MATLAB for testing and analysis
• Experience with GPU programming (e.g. CUDA) or parallel computing
What do you get in return?
• A high-impact internship in a deep-tech startup working on advanced radar systems
• Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art sensing hardware
• Real ownership of technically challenging engineering tasks
• Easy-to-reach office (by car, bike, or public transport), located at the YES!Delft building
• Internship compensation of €500,- per month
