At Spiral Hydrogen you have a chance to do something extraordinary: shape the future of energy.
We started with a big question: what does civilization need to flourish? The answer we came to is: cheap green energy.
We are starting with hydrogen. Our novel electrolyzer design, which achieves 95% electrical efficiency (HHV) and eliminates many costly components, can deliver green hydrogen below gray hydrogen costs.
We just need you to make it happen.
So far, we have validated the core design, protected the IP, and got VC funding. Now we are preparing for a 100 kW pilot.
To make this real, we are hiring engineers in relevant domains to join us. This is an open role, from Master’s students to senior professionals, for people excited about our mission who want to work hands-on on a hard, real-world problem.
What you’ll do
This is an early-stage engineering role. The exact shape of the role will depend on you and on what the project needs at the time.
You’ll take on real technical ownership in developing the electrolyzer system. That can span mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electrochemistry, and balance-of-plant / process work. Depending on your strengths and interests, you might focus on things like rotating machinery, sealing and leakage, wobble and fatigue, CAD and simulations, test setups, or system-level integration.
Who you are
You’re sharp, curious, and learn fast. You’ve built a lot of things before, in school, startups, research, garages, labs, or side projects, and you like getting your hands dirty.
You probably:
- Operate at Master’s level or above in an engineering or applied science field.
- Enjoy figuring things out when the path isn’t clear.
- Default to ownership and initiative.
- Like startup environments: small teams, high trust, real responsibility.
- Care about the mission and want to work on something that actually matters.
- Want to grow. As an engineer, as a teammate, and as a person, alongside people who care just as much.
Practicalities
- Location: On-site in Delft, Netherlands (office + workshop at YES!Delft)
- Time commitment: Full-time
- Team: Small, technical, founder-led
- Compensation: Competitive salary + equity for early employees
- Start: As soon as possible
