Role and Responsibilities
- Process Development & Scale-up
- Support the translation of bench-scale experiments into pilot-scale applications.
- Set up and execute protocols to investigate, optimise, and improve bioprocess performance.
- Contribute to process troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
- Pilot-Scale Operations
- Support weekly pilot-scale production and experimental runs.
- Assist with process monitoring, data collection, and documentation during fermentation and downstream operations.
- Analytics & Documentation
- Develop and routinely perform analytical methods to evaluate process performance.
- Document experimental results clearly and rigorously, supporting internal reporting and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications and Experience
We’re looking for candidates who:
- Are currently pursuing an M.Sc. (or equivalent) in food technology, (bio)process technology, process engineering, chemical engineering, or related fields.
- Are comfortable working across bench-scale experiments, pilot-scale equipment, and data documentation.
- Are proactive team players with strong English proficiency.
- Are required by their university to complete a mandatory internship.
- Are available for a 6–7 month internship period.
Preferred Background
- First-hand experience in startups or scale-ups.
- Experience with grants, non-dilutive funding, and public financing instruments.
- Exposure to industrial, biotech, materials, or climate-tech projects.
- Practical lessons learned from operating in imperfect, real-world conditions.
