About Us
Sensible Healthcare Systems, a Dutch company developing the connected biosensing platform of the future, is on a mission to bring the power of accurate and personable insight into our own biology to hundreds of millions of people worldwide at a revolutionarily low cost.
Our focus today is on the development of our first product, idi one, a minimally invasive continuous glucose monitoring system (CGM). To reach our goals, we are seeking an experienced Chief of Product and Operations (CPOO).
Job Description & Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic professional with a history within R&D projects and management of product development and operations in the area of medtech/hardware products.
The job entails responsibilities in managing operation and strategy, including:
• Driving the product development planning
• Owning product requirements and development roadmaps/prioritization
• Managing daily execution of engineering activities
• Strategizing company growth and internal organization
• Management of suppliers and partners
• Closely support and collaborate with our management team, and manage MT activities
While this is mostly a managerial position, candidates should be comfortable with understanding, supporting and being in very close contact with those performing engineering and laboratory work, and even performing some practical tasks, getting their hands dirty when necessary.
Your Qualifications and Skills
Must-have:
• Several years of relevant experience in medtech or complex hardware systems.
• Several years of relevant experience in small- or medium-sized companies.
• Knowledge on how to scale a small organization, organize its operations, and handle its growth process.
• Experience in managing and working on complex medical/hardware products and R&D processes
o Knowledge on how to build a medtech/hardware product start-to-end (from prototype to launch, via clinical/regulatory and manufacturing)
o Track-record in making executive strategic R&D plans and translate into disciplined execution.
• Demonstrated leadership, self-drive and initiative.
• Drive to take ownership of and work on many different aspects of the company, ranging from high-level planning to brainstorming on specific daily challenges our team members face.
Desirable:
• Previous role as either executive/manager in a startup or managed cross-functional tech teams in a relevant regulated field (medtech, diagnostics, etc)
• Previous exposure to the startup growth process, ideally all the way from Seed stage throughout Series A and B.
• Relevant technical or managerial background, e.g. in engineering, life sciences or MBA.
• Experience with class 2+ medical devices (ideally in the fields of biosensors, in-vivo diagnostics, wearables, etc.) o Experience in the CGM space is not required, but extremely valued.
• Experience with strategizing and setting up manufacturing outsourcing and supply-chain, including feasibility and scale-up, as well as handling of suppliers.
• Sprint management and daily team management experience (using Jira or any similar method)
• Good understanding of engineering and wet-labwork processes and environments, either hands-on or with direct operational exposure.
• Experience in early-stage business development in medtech.
• Direct or indirect QA/RA and/or clinical trial experience under EU-MDR.
Due to the highly regulated nature of medical devices, and the unique energy of working in a startup environment, candidates with previous experience in these sectors will be prioritized. However, if only a couple of the above requirements are missing in your profile and you believe this position would be an excellent fit nonetheless, do not hesitate to apply!

This technology has the potential of reaching a huge and expanding market, with the possibility to revolutionize the way we gain insight into our own biology.
We offer a competitive salary in the startup market, as well as a personalized benefits package. The total compensation package for this position may also include special remuneration such as options or other incentives/ benefits to be vested over time.
