🔥 We challenge you!
Do you want to work on a high-tech project with an impact and get a taste of the dynamic startup environment at the YES!Delft? Then come and join us this summer for an exciting internship opportunity. We are a startup that focuses on developing new applications of wave-based imaging solutions. We are seeking an ambitious and enthusiastic individual that is eager to test an application of a recently-developed novel imaging method at TU Delft to GPR data in a setting that is applicable to infrastructure monitoring.
Infrastructure monitoring is highly relevant to our society as a whole these days, because already here in the Netherlands alone, all the infrastructure that was built in the past 75 years will need to be replaced and/or repaired in the next 25 years (remember the recent news about the Nelson Mandela bridge in Zoetermeer?). There is therefore a big opportunity to develop smart monitoring solutions to gauge the current state of infrastructure to make informed decisions on replacement versus repair, as well as the actual level of repair that is necessary. New monitoring solutions that can lead to informed decisions on targeted repairs can help increase the lifespan of our infrastructure and in that way contribute to a more sustainable future for our society. If this challenge resonates with you, come and join us this summer to try and work towards a first proof of concept.
👉🏼 You are
- A student electrical engineering, technische natuurkunde, geophysics, applied mathematics
💻 Requirements
- Good knowledge of wave propagation, preferably electromagnetic
- Good numerical and Python coding skills (C-programming desirable)
- Highly motivated individual with a can-do attitude
- Good verbal and written communication skills
🏦 What do you get in return?
The project will provide you with a good theoretical understanding of the new imaging technique as well as practical experience with modeling of GPR data. The project would start around July but the starting data is somewhat flexible depending on your own availability. We offer an attractive internship salary. You will be the first to test our new imaging software in this setting using numerically modeled GPR data and will be working as part of an international team of 3 or 4 PhD-graduated highly technical individuals.
